Welcome to the highly anticipated Episode 184 of Jay of the Dead’s New Horror Movies, in which everyone’s “favorite Horror Avenger” (and perhaps the most controversial one), Ron Martin — The Cassandra of Horror Podcasting — continues his milestone movie challenge worthy of his formidable Horror reputation. In celebration of turning 50 back on February 26, 2026, Ron has undertaken an ambitious cinematic mission: to watch 50 Horror movies he has never seen before during his 50th year! Rest assured, this is not merely a collection of familiar favorites, nostalgic rewatches, or comfortable genre standbys… Every selection must be a Horror film that Ron has never previously seen. No repeats. No fallback choices. Instead, Ron is tackling his own personal list of long-overdue “Must-See Horror Movies,” neglected essentials, celebrated classics, and a handful of surprising blind spots that even he admits are slightly embarrassing. And in addition, he is randomly selecting films that he’s just in the mood to watch at that time. But again, always and above all … films he has not yet seen!

Ron Martin’s 50 for 50 Horror Special spans five total episodes, with 10 mini reviews featured in each volume. Throughout the series, Ron offers concise, insightful, and frequently fiery reactions to each movie, complete with ratings and recommendations, as he attempts to “fill in the holes” of his extensive Horror-viewing résumé. The films may come from physical media, streaming services, or theatrical releases. The only firm requirement is that Ron must be experiencing each title for the very first time! For a lifelong Horror authority, it is a daring, revealing, and endlessly intriguing undertaking. So, join us for Volume 2 of 5 as Ron continues his 50 for 50 Horror journey — facing down supposed classics, testing long-held expectations, addressing glaring omissions, and carrying on his relentless pursuit of Horror truth versus Horror myth!
