P.S.

Jay very briefly mentioned listeners of the show remembering him when he’s gone, and I just want you to know brother:

When the original HMP site went down and the feeds for the show on all the third party podcast apps/sites went down, I dedicated hours to finding them wherever I could and downloading them. Literal hours, brother! I even started grabbing screenshots of the shownotes for each episode using the wayback machine because I wasn’t sure if y’alls hard work was lost.

There’s quite a few of us who will remember you long after you’re gone. Though try to crank out another few decades worth of podcasting before you go!

Same goes for Mackula, Mr. Watson, Doc Shock, Dr. Walking Dead, GregaMortis, Pearl, Dave Zee, Gillman and, begrudgingly, that pain in the ass contrarian Ron Martin.
Shout out to Little Miss Horror Nerd, One Sick Puppy and the elusive Wolfman too.

Y’all ruined podcasting for me because if you aren’t on it, I don’t wanna listen to it. Peace, love, bonechilling terror and existential horror to you all.

The conversation Jay and Mack had about finding peace with how they spend their time, about collections and what they mean to people, and about what will happen to our collections when we’re gone, really struck a cord with me.

Funnily enough I’m listening to this the day before my 30th birthday and, even though I know 30 is pretty dang young in the grand scheme of things, I can’t help having thoughts about where I’m going and where I’ve been. If I wasted precious time watching movies and playing video games when I could have been out traveling or meeting new people. Sometimes I worry I missed out on some of the things one can only really experience when they’re young and dumb.

You guys happened to help me achieve a more positive perspective about these things right when I needed it the most. Can’t thank y’all enough for being genuine and unabashed about the things you love.

Astounding episode!

Really enjoyed listening to the discussion on streaming vs physical. I do have a decent amount of physical media, VHS, DVD, LASERDISC, CED and 4k. I did recently start sleeving my DVDs in plastic sleeves to save space. I do have a couple special editions and limited editions I can post on twitter. Look forward to the rest of the series. Shawn

I loved this episode. I could listen to people talk about their collections for days and not get bored.
I like to hear people who are passionate talking about their hobbies.
I have almost 2,367 movies, mostly blu ray and some DVDs. A significant percentage would be horror but I love all types of movies. I will email Jay a photo of my collection (using the code name).
I’m looking forward to hearing the other hosts discuss their collections too.
