The very best thing about Skinamarink is… the poster art.
Loved this episode though!

LOVED this episode. You know a movie is profound when it creates so much discourse, even if the film itself leaves something to be desired.

I particularly dug Mr. Watson’s story about John Cage’s 4’33”. The first thing I Googled was “Was John Cage a drummer?” because if so, this ‘musical’ is way funnier. I recall so many concert band/orchestra compositions of sitting and counting 20+ measures for a single cymbal crash. 4’33” is like the inside of a drummer’s brain. (But I also think that gives him too much credit, and the composition is actually probably just a load of hogwash).

Keep on keepin’ on with awesome episodes like these.

My man! You cracked me up so much with this awesome comment, buddy. As a drummer, myself, I love where your head went with my story!

One part I didn’t talk about regarding that John Cage party… this super hot chick came up to me as we were all leaving, and I thought she was about to hit on me, but she literally said that I was an idiot. I high-fived her and told her to buzz off. LOL.

Hey guys,
Oh, Skinamarink, where to begin? I know you’re suppose to come up with what is really happening, because not much is explained. In this case, an explanation would of made this movie better. Nothing worse than not knowing what a movie is even about. I’ve read the boy is in a coma from falling down the stairs. The Mom killed everyone, then herself and the kids are in purgatory. The entity is the Dad. The kids have been abused and this is the nightmare they relive. I know the director based it on nightmares people had. I remember waking up in the middle of the night, being scared as a kid. This could be an attempt to recreate that. Problem is, it’s a terrible attempt. Micro budget movies aren’t always bad, but this one is. I think when the first people saw this, like most, didn’t think it was anything and pretty bad. Then, someone said, let’s call it experimental and it blew up. No matter what you call it, a bad movie is a bad movie, and this is one of them. 3/10

My girlfriend and I caught this in the theater, and it was literally one of the worst, most frustrating big screen experiences I’ve ever had.

Like several people mentioned, if it had been a 10-15 minute short film I probably could have rolled with it. But at 100 minutes, it’s insufferable.

Anybody who rated this 5 or higher needs their head examined 😂 It got a rare 1 star review from me on Letterboxd.

Was Doc Shock mixing up “woke horror” with “elevated horror”? I couldn’t figure out anything in Skinamarink that might be considered woke. Really, that shit was made to put audiences to sleep 😂

Hey, Jon! Sorry you had to sit through this movie! LOL.

And yes… I was wondering the same thing myself about what Doc meant by “woke.” I think you’re right that he likely meant “elevated.”
